Size guide for boxing gloves: 14oz: Used by most adults between 50-85kg for free sparring. The heavier the glove, the more padding there is in it. It is important to have at least 14oz for free sparring, both for you and the person you are sparring with. 16oz: Used for free sparring of bigger guys and those who hit hard. 16oz is highly recommended by most clubs if you want to be spared hard with blows to the head. 18oz: For those of us who have extra protection and padding during hard sparring. Remember that just like with shoes, the gloves stretch and shape. It is good if they are tight when you buy them. A tip is to also wrap your hands with a boxing wrap, this to prevent hand injuries.
